St. John the Baptist has a K-12 Faith Formation program to foster a life-long journey in Christ among our children and youth. The curriculum is directed by our catechists who strive to help parents build a good foundation for their children’s spiritual life. Recognizing that parents are the chief teachers of their children in faith, we encourage parents to participate in our ministry.
We offer three days at different times for your convenience:
Sundays - 9:15am-10:45am (K- 6th grade)
Tuesdays - 5:30pm-7:00pm (K- 6th grade)
Wednesdays - 5:00pm-6:30pm (K- 6th grade)
Wednesdays - 7:00pm-8:30pm (7-12th grade)
We also offer RCIA-C, Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (adapted for Children), which is intended for children over seven years of age who have not yet been baptized and who want to become Catholics. An extensive, two-year class, RCIA-C culminates with Baptism, Communion and Confirmation. This class is held on Tuesday evenings 7:00-9:00pm
Volunteers are always welcome in this vital ministry of faith formation. Catechists, catechist-helpers, office aides, and traffic directors are just a few of the roles of these volunteers.
Catechist- candidates must be at least high-school graduates.
Catechist-helper- candidates should be at least 10 years
old and prepared to be helpful and obedient.
Traffic directors- usually are men, but we have had women
in this role. Their role is to keep traffic flowing
before and after class in a way that will keep
our children safe.
Office aide- candidates should be adults or at least seventh-
We always need adult helpers in both the classroom and the Faith Formation Office. If you are available and have a heart for service to children, we can help you learn to guide our young people to a life in Christ.
